Saying Farewell
Organising and planning a funeral, memorial service or celebration of life can be difficult and overwhelming at such a traumatic time. You are dealing with intense loss, your world maybe turned upside down, there are people to contact, paperwork to complete and decisions to be made. Grief is said to be the price we pay for love.
As your funeral celebrant it would be my privilege to assist you by creating, writing and leading a ceremony alongside you that will capture the essence of the person you have lost. I will ensure to build a farewell ceremony for your loved one that reflects their life, wishes, beliefs, values and what they meant to friends and family.
I am a Civil Celebrant and therefore not affiliated to any religion. The ceremony can be completely non-religious, or incorporate aspects of any religion (readings, music, or prayers) that represent the person whose life we are celebrating. I follow your wishes.
A unique and personal ceremony allows family and friends to acknowledge death, pay their own tribute and have their personal reflections on a life lived. It provides an opportunity to have a loved ones legacy celebrated and treasured in the presence of the people who were most important in their lives.

The Planning Process
Cherished Ceremonies
“Quality is never an accident, it is always the result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction and skilful execution”

-
Whether you have been given my details by your funeral director or have found me directly I begin a process to gather information. From the very first conversation over the telephone I listen to you. You would be surprised by how much loving and informative information you share as talking about the person who has died, although can be painful, is a cathartic experience.
-
After we have talked on the telephone we can arrange a date and time to meet. This is almost always in your home if you are comfortable with that. You can be along, with relatives, with friends or however you feel comfortable. We will have a cup of tea and a chat. My role is to listen, observe and gently prompt to enable me to gather information and favourite memories. Memories that make you smile. Memories you cherish and memories you made together.
-
I can help and guide you gently through planning the ceremony ensuring everything you want to include is written within the service. From the music that will be played, words of love shared, poem and readings, a persons story.

-
If you are including an order of service I will make the template including your music choice, poems and readings and if you wish for donations to be made in a loves ones memory. Once I have completed the initial draft of this it will be sent to you to be amended or approved.
-
I will write a draft script of the service for you to look over. This may include your loved ones story or you may wish to draft your loves ones eulogy yourself. The script can be re written as many times as needed. I will check it over with you after each draft until it is exactly as you envisaged
-
On the day of the ceremony I will be at the venue before you arrive. I will be there to support you, manage and deliver a ceremony that reflects and celebrates the life and uniqueness of your loved one.
-
Following the ceremony I will give you the final script to keep or share with those that could not attend
The fee for this service is £244.00
